EU maritime policy - Conference "Sea our Future"

The conference was organised by the Land of Schleswig Holstein, in cooperation with other German Regions and the Committee of the Regions.
The aim was to discuss the regional approach to the future EU maritime policy.

Meeting of the “Europe of the Sea” working parties

Visit to the CPMR by John Richardson
The first visit made by John Richardson, Director of the Task Force responsible for drafting the Green Paper, was to the CPMR in Rennes on 16th May 2005.
He confirmed his intention to publish a Green Paper in the middle of 2006, to pave the way for an ambitious, totally integrated maritime policy. European maritime economy
Because of this, he showed a great deal of interest in the CPMR’s work (especially the “Europe of the Sea” project) and expressed a hope that he and the CPMR could continue to work together.
CPMR Scientific Committee
The CPMR Scientific Committee, which is providing the scientific backing for the “Europe of the Sea” project, meets every semester. maritime research in Europe
After its October 2004 meeting to discuss the subject of transport and research, the Scientific Committee met on 4th April in Vilamoura (Argarve-PT) to consider the topics of sustainable development, governance and energy.
Next scheduled meeting: November / December 2005 to discuss Industry and Competitiveness.
